Female White-Collar Crime Divas-Mordern Day Thieves
Recently, a coworker was fired from the job. At the company I work for this is a regular occurrence. This however, does not keep you from being curious and it does not take long for the gossip to spread. Like everyone else I was eager to hear why. According to the rumors the worker was terminated because he/she used the company postage for private use. It amounted to thirty dollars. We all thought they should have made the worker repay the cost and put the person on probation. The director was firm with the company’s policy of zero tolerant to any form of theft.
After some time and thought I begin t realize that this should have been a invaluable learning lesson for this individual. I say this because this person was in law school getting ready to become an attorney. In this particular career, depending on which field one practices, it is essential to have a solid sense of ethic, even though the job at times can cause that to be challenged due to one’s responsibility to their client.
We live in a different world today where everything is not simply all black or all white. We see this everyday when we watch television, listen to the radio, and read articles, then we sit in judgment of others actions. What is right or wrong? What would you do when having to make challenging decisions? Where do you draw the line?
Please feel free to share your thought on this!
