Female White-Collar Crime Divas-Mordern Day Thieves
I just read that a 70-year-old woman who was convicted and sentenced to prison for a $7 million insurance fraud and the death of an 88-year-old patient at a nursing home she owned and operated is now being charged with another unrelated crime.
I was shocked to read someone her age and having already experienced prison, could possibly be involved in anything that would challenge her freedom. My heart was sadden wondering could it be so. Why? Is she like Miz Peggy from Trucker’s Nightmare, did she feel there’s nothing for her to live on the outside for?
The CrimeDiva for today is Martha Bell, 70, of West Mifflin, PA is accused of swindling a man out of $322,000. Records states, Ms. Bell told victim that allegedly controls Medicare bed licenses and he could invest. Ms. Bell convicted in 2001 for a $7 million insurance fraud and the death of an elderly woman at one of her nursing home. She served five years for the fraud case and two for the woman. It was not the death of the woman that she was convicted of, but the cover-up of the death. If this alleged new case is true, shame on her.
