Female White-Collar Crime Divas-Mordern Day Thieves
I would hope that when individuals make bad decisions and have to pay the consequences incarcerated that they would have learned a very valuable lesson, which should be no amount of money or power is worth your FREEDOM. In these posts we have come across only a few who don’t seem to hold their freedom in the same light, as with the case today.
Today’s CrimeDiva, Alyce Leticia Biggs, 44, of Lake Arrowhead, CA., was sentenced to 11 years in state prison for committing workers’ compensation insurance fraud, tax fraud and grand theft.
According to records, she committed the same crimes in 2010, but was placed on probation and ordered to serve a year in custody. This is what I find amazing, while she was still on probation, Ms. Biggs, was working as a bookkeeper and allegedly stole from two of her clients. The records indicated, Ms. Biggs took bank deposits, but on the way to the bank she pocketed the cash, and only deposit the checks.
Based on the records, she continued committing the same crimes for three years, over and over. She agreed to serve 11 years in state prison, [Did she really have a choice?], and pay back the victims all of the money she took from them. [Really, from prison.]
Hopefully, Ms. Biggs will get some help whiles she’s doing this time in prison, because it sounds like there are some serious issues to keep her involved in this criminal behavior.
