Female White-Collar Crime Divas-Mordern Day Thieves

She Shopped at Wal-Mart

achur     Wow, this is a very interesting case to  start off this wonderful year 2014 . . . . Like the Midwest, we are going to start off with a big bang.

Our CrimeDiva to start 2014 is, Susan Droessler, of Columbia County, Wisconsin. My, my, my, what a regular looking woman. But this girl had been very busy since 2007 raking in money and benefits  from the catholic school/parish where she worked as  . . .  you guessed, a secretary/bookkeeper.

There was so much going on with this case, I hardly know where to start.  Let’s see, Ms. Droessler was employed at the St. Jerome Parish and School since 2001.

According to the records,  June 2011, the head father at the parish went to the Columbus Police department to complaint that the parish had been ripped off by its former secretary/bookkeeper, Ms. Droessler. I’m sure he was pissed off, because she resigned a year earlier and right after she left the new person stepped in… and if you have been following my posts you know all the dirt came to the surface.  Ms. Droessler had been writing check, using credit cards . . . had a hell of a time on a spending spree at Wal-Mart’s, pay her and her family cell phone bills, enrolled herself, her husband, and three children in the parish/school health, dental and vision plans, which by the way she didn’t qualify for because she was considered a part-time employee.  Oh my gush it gets worse, she did not pay the employees’ state and federal taxes. I can only  imagine the not so good thoughts those people had finding out that.

Ms. Droessler was convicted of one county of felony theft. She was ordered to pay $167,388.79 in restitution, sentenced to do six month in prison with no early release, ordered not to  be employed in any position where she has  financial responsibilities, and will be on five years probations.

You know I don’t mean to read more into this case, but I’m wondering why didn’t the husband get charged. Now, this is where things start to merge into those shades of gray. Ms. Droessler husband was on the board of trustee for the parish during those nine years of her employment, all of those benefits his family was  getting -could they really been unknown to him?  Yes, they could have! One thing I want to stress here is when a person is involved in white-collar crimes it is a secret from their family, friends and everyone else. No one really knows what’s going on with them. Unlike when someone goes out and robs– a person involved in a white-collar crime can commit  illegal acts  within their employment/position: write checks, use credit cards, create and manipulate documents.  These illegal situations usually take years to come to the light, if ever.

Come on ladies and gentlemen, we have got to start talking to each other. This woman was working part-time. A red flag should have gone off that something was not right.
