Female White-Collar Crime Divas-Mordern Day Thieves

IRS-Watching You!

I noticed whenever there are companies providing services and government funds are involved there are another set of eyes watching over it. If there is anything illegal going on it’s only a matter of time before it comes to light. As I have mentioned the government can take their time gathering information and proof.  As in this case where the crime goes back to year 2007 when this company came under the FBI and IRS radar.

The CrimeDiva today is Kimberle K. Young, owner of New Impulse, Super Rehab Technology, and Advanced Rehab Technologies. Ms. Young was charged with a billing fraud scam; in the amount of $1.8 million and laundering $37,200 in relation to a scheme to defraud various health-care benefit programs.

The case was delayed almost 18 months, because her original lawyer, Jimmy Parks Jr., died of an enlarged heart.

Ms. Young, operated New Impulse, Superior Rehab Technology, and Advanced Rehab Technologies since 1996, and was under investigation by the FBI and the Internal Revenue Service’s Criminal Investigation section since at least 2007 over alleged illegal billings, which are related to workers’ compensation claims. The federal indictment alleged that from 2000, to 2007, the defendant conspired to submit fraudulent billings for transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulators — small portable devices that use electrical current passed through the skin to stimulate muscles and control pain — plus supplies for the units, and topical analgesics.

According to the records, she  billed and over billed the Texas Municipal League, Zenith Insurance Co., Fireman’s Fund Insurance, CNA Insurance and Sentry Insurance for items that weren’t delivered to the purported recipients.

Ms. Young faces up to 10 years in prison.
