Female White-Collar Crime Divas-Mordern Day Thieves

Car Insurance Fraud get woman in big trouble!

It amazes me how innovated people can get when committing a crime. Today’s CrimeDivas, Glenia S. DaSilva, 47, of Rutherford, NJ was charged with renting cars with bogus insurance cards on a monthly basis to unlicensed drivers, many of whom were not in the country legally. According to the records, Ms. DaSilva had registered over 180 cars with the New Jersey Motor Vehicles Commission and as soon as the insurance cards arrived she cancelled the policy, (I know there are a lot of people out there doing this, be warned, it’s a crime to drive a vehicle without proper insurance). It appears that she had a car renting business going on and was renting the vehicle to illegal immigrants for a month at a time. They were unaware that they were driving around in uninsured cars.

Obviously, in the state of New Jersey, the insurance companies notify the MVC when a person cancels their insurance, at least, with Ms. DaSilva, since she was regularly doing this to the point it because suspicious.

She is now facing the charges of insurance fraud and falsifying records, which could get her some serious prison time.
