Female White-Collar Crime Divas-Mordern Day Thieves
“My will was perverse and lust had grown from it, and when I gave in to lust, habit was born, and when I did not resist the habit it became a necessity. These were the links which together formed what I have called my chain, and it held me fast in the duress of servitude.” St. Augustine
I thought this was a very profound statement, and it is the essence of the slave greed makes of those that give into the lust for material things. The getting those things become a habit, and bound them like chains to a slave. As you read, the many articles I have and will post you will see this; especially with the women who had/have been involved in their crimes for years.
Today’s CrimeDiva, Uben Ogbu Rush, 54, of California was sentenced to 156 months in federal prison for $8 million Medicare fraud case in which she illegally paid kickbacks for referrals to patients, whose beneficiary information was used to make bogus claims to the government health care program.
According to the records, from 1999 – 2008, Ms. Rush, paid kickbacks to marketers, who in turn paid kickbacks to doctors who fraudulently wrote prescriptions, even though the physicians had not examined the patients, or an examination revealed that the medical equipment was not medically necessary.
Can you see all the innocent individuals that were hurt from this illegal situation? And, it was not just Ms. Rush greed, but those that helped her carry-out this scheme, including the doctors. Now, here at the end of it all, those material things that the money provided for is gone and they have lost their freedom, which is priceless.
