Today we have a pair to add to the CrimeDiva’s list, and they are, Kara Collins and Stephanie Moses, of Dallas-Forth Worth, TX.
The two middle aged females were both charged with one count of mail fraud each for their part in an elaborate insurance schemes. From 2006 through 2011, Ms. Collins and Ms. Moses, along with two males co-defendants, who were the actual masterminds behind the schemes, faked automotive accidents and file personal and accidental insurance claims. In addition to that they created a fake chiropractic clinic and billed insurance companies. The money was in the upper hundreds of thousands of dollars. To read more click here.
Kara Collins was sentenced to 46 months in prison and Stephanie Moses was sentenced to 12 months. And both were heavily fined. A little tip: If you are sentenced to 365 days you will do all of that time. If you are sentenced to 366 days you qualify for two or more months of good time, providing you are ‘good’. This is for anyone reading this that maybe facing prison time, or if you know someone who is. The deal has to come through the PA’s office with your attorney before the sentencing agreement.
