Female White-Collar Crime Divas-Mordern Day Thieves
The Crime Divas of the decade/century, so far, is Rebecca S. Parrett, 66-year-old, former executive involved in a $2.8 Billion fraud case involving National Century Financial Enterprise(NCFE). A company she helped create.
On March 13, 2008, Rebecca S. Parrett former vice-chairman, secretary, treasurer, director, and owner of NCFE was convicted of conspiracy, security fraud, and wire fraud.
On March 27, 2009 she was sentenced to 25 years in a federal prison, but shortly afterward while waiting to be assigned to the prison, Ms. Parrett disappeared. The government put her on the most wanted fugitive list, but it was not until two and a half years later that they would catch up with her, by accident/chance.
Ms. Parrett had settled into the beautiful, serene, lakefront, upper class, retirement community of Ajijic, Mexico. She had dyed her blond hair brunette, and was living as one of the local. That was until someone dropped a dime or is it a quarter, and then her identity was uncovered.
This is a truly fascinating story. It reads like Enron, Compuware and Maddock crime cases. Click here and read some of the headlines on the story: www.crimedivas.com
I don’t have to tell you why Ms. Parrett made the Crime Divas of the decade/century list, but I will: $2.8 billion, an educated executive at a high-profile company that sent devastating, rippling effects throughout the health care industry, late middle age, and this is a special one just for her – she fled the country to avoid the punishment. . . . Again, this “is not” to ridicule, but for to learn, understand, heal and move forward.
Unfortunately, no one guessed who she was. Next month, I will run another contest for an outrageous Crime Divas so please follow my posts . . . this is really getting interesting.
I would love to hear your comments positive or negative.
